We are a team of like-minded people united by Slovyansk secondary school №15 and the desire to change education.

We are students who are not always easy to teach chemistry and physics. To understand them, we do not have enough textbooks with formulas, we strive for sights and practices.

We are teachers of physics and chemistry. We cannot fully fulfill the wishes of the students, because they are limited by the curriculum and lack of modern equipment.

So, due to the limited facilities and lack modern equipment, idea of the project “Eureka” was born. “Eureka” is a maximally effective STEM-space for a high-qualified, contemporary and interesting process of Physics and Chemistry learning.

The project suggests working at three branches:

Educational space is about holding the lessons by the model of  “Mixed studying”At this space we are planning to work at some rotary stations that include working with media devices (laptop, tablet), working with a teacher and working with printed materials. We are planning to introduce using of innovational methods of learning and online services, such as mobile apps, virtual laboratories, online tests, simulators and games.

Researching space is an organization of students “researching and artistic” activities, where children would be able to show their scientific and artisticpotential. It is a place for working at some researching projects, developing  3D-models, mastering of computer-modeling skills, holding workshops for peers and younger students.

Internet space is a creation of our own specific website, where we are planning to post video tutorials for a “flipped over class” model, created by students and teachers. Videos with the experiments performed by students, online tests, video safety instructions, computer games and creative work of students. This space is a material for working in educational and researching spaces and demonstration of  results at the same time.

To embody our project we have already assembled a team of soul mates that want to change the world and gain new experience. We are:

  • Holding lessons with the help of “rotary stations”.
  • Having some equipment for making experiments at the Physics lessons  (two years ago we successfully embodied the project, called “Hand-made Physics experiments” at the GoF platform).
  • We presented the project “Researching of the level of carbon dioxide in class” at the competition of students’ scientific works “Intel-eco-2018” in Kyiv.
  • We already have a projector and a screen at the Physics classroom.

At first the project will be implemented in our school on the basis of 9-11 grades. Then we are planning to attract students of seventh-eleventh forms, to cover all classes, where Chemistry and Physics are taught. And after that we are thinking about the experience exchange with other schools,  that are situated next to our school and cooperation with higher educational establishments.

Introduction of the model of mixed studies at Physics and Chemistry lessons will help to:

  • Increase the level of motivation to study Physics and Chemistry.
  • Attract students to innovations.
  • Create some new ways of teaching and use the existing ones with the help of educational platforms.

The creation of the site will serve as a platform for presentations of research projects carried out at various events, for example: MAN (Small Academy of Sciences), competition of students’ scientific works “Intel-eco”, etc.

We took part in the program «Eastern Meetings». And if the crowd-funding campaign would be successful, we would get a co-financing from the program`s partners.

To implement our idea we have to buy the following equipment:

The project was developed within the educational program “Eastern Meetings” and with the support of the UCBI II Project that is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 14 cities of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions. In the case of the successful Crowdfunding campaign of the authors, the project will be co-funded in the amount of 25 000 UAH.
